Me and my Abishay

Hi Everyone

I know that you “are fearfully and wonderfully made and great are your works o Lord” as both Pam and I are

The clocks have been turned back an hour, so the wintertime is here again. Do not you just love the season. When you think about it there is a lot of good things about winter like hearty beef stew and lots of other tasty winter dishes that are not cooked any other time of the year. Other years we had Winterval which brought a buzz throughout the city. I myself, welcome back my Abishay into my bed which is most welcome on a darn cold night (Read Kings 1). This year we may be spending a lot of time by the fire reading a good book.

Of course, in the middle of winter we have Christmas when we celebrate the birth of Christ and hopefully maybe this year there will be less hype with shopping and socialising so we can get back the real meaning of Christmas

Without winter we would not appreciate the coming of Spring when the days gets warmer and the days longer and then there is summer to look forward

Prior to the strict lockdown church life went on as best as could in line with government restriction (Refer to Romans 13 )”for the authority do not strike fear in people who are doing right but those who are doing wrong. Would you like to live without fear of the authorities then do what is right and they will honour you. So anyone who rebels against the authority, rebels against God”.

We went to two services on Sundays which worked extremely well thanks to all who volunteered their help for the changeover. It is amazing how quickly we got used to registering attendance, wearing masks and socially distance. The thing I missed most is the chat and the coffee/tea after the service.

Despite the pandemic we are delighted to report that six people were baptized in Dunmore east and some new people who have come to church got saved (Glory to God)

We have a new group called “Reconnect Waterford” with the aim to spread the Gospel and helping the homeless in Waterford.

When the lockdown is finished in December, God willing we will continue to have two services at 10 AM and 12 PM each Sunday

In the meantime, you can contact the office Monday to Friday from 10:00 am-12:30 pm of phone 051855517 or on my mobile 0872051893

Until we see you again may God bless you and keep you safe

Pastor Pam and Gerard

Ps For you who do not know what a Abishay is, It is my electric blanket (ha-ha)
