Prayer – Wednesdays

Dear brothers and sisters,

Just a reminder, to those who are able, to set tomorrow aside to pray and seek the Lord about the current situation to pray and to fast if possible. Suggested times are 9am, 12md, 6pm and 9pm, just as an encouragement, knowing that at these times others are also praying.
Luke 18:1 Jesus says that we should always pray and not give up, and we have reason to be encouraged as we have not experienced the overwhelming surge that other countries have suffered but let us press on until we are clear.
Suggested guidelines for prayer
  • Praise and thanksgiving – Phil 4:4-7
    • to the Lord for who He is and His grace towards us
    • for our health service and our government
    • for the cooperation of people with the guidelines
  • The Government  – 1Tim 2:1-3
    • H.S.E. and Gardai
      • continued wisdom
      •  health and strength

    • that they would turn to the Lord
    • that they would recover

    • the continued supply of good quality P.P.E. (personal protective equipment eg. masks, gowns, goggles etc)
    • the situation in nursing homes where the elderly are so vulnerable
  • People – Mark 6:34
    • that many people would have a life-changing encounter with the Lord at this time
    • for continued willing cooperation with the guidelines
    • for those who are isolated and lonely
    • for those who are afraid
    • for those already living in stressful situations, eg domestic abuse, which have been made worse by the current crisis
  • Maranatha – Matt. 5:14-15
    • that we would be salt and light to those around us
    • that we would prepare to be able to disciple new believers
    • church finances
    • peace and protection for each one of us
  •  The future
